Japanese publisher KADOKAWA made an exciting announcement on May 2, revealing that Ichiei Ishibumi’s popular light novel series, High School DxD, has achieved a significant milestone with a total of 7.8 million copies printed across the globe, including digital editions, as of April 2024.

High School DxD, which debuted under KADOKAWA’s Fantasia Bunko imprint in September 2008, has continued to charm readers with its engaging storyline and vibrant characters.

Following the ending of the original series with its 25th volume in March 2018, a sequel titled Shin High School DxD was launched in July of the same year, with four volumes released to date.

Translated into multiple languages such as English, Korean, Chinese, and Thai, the series has garnered a dedicated global following, further cementing its status as a beloved franchise.

Author Ichiei Ishibumi expressed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support, emphasizing the significance of reaching such a remarkable milestone.

“This figure is a global total, and I believe it is thanks to the response to the English version, which has been on sale for several years,” Ishibumi remarked. “Although the series is still ongoing, it is a great honor for the series to have such strong support not only in Japan but also in other countries.”
