In an exclusive interview with NXT, Ivar confidently affirmed his readiness for a potential match against Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship. He stated, “You’re damn right I am. I’m ready. Briggs got me fired up. I love hitting, and that man brought it. Oba Femi will bring it to me too, and I’m prepared for him.”

Ivar’s Journey of Championship

Acknowledging Femi’s dominance in NXT, Ivar emphasized, “This man has been unstoppable in NXT. No one can bring him down. But I did. I brought him to his knees, I put him on the mat.”

Contrasting Femi’s relatively new career with his own extensive experience, Ivar highlighted, “Femi has around 12 to 15 matches in the books, but I’ve got 23 years of experience. I’ve never had things handed to me.”

Reflecting on his past challenges, including a pandemic and a broken neck, Ivar expressed determination for his first opportunity at a singles championship in 2024. He asserted, “Now, in 2024, in NXT, I will have my first opportunity for a singles championship in this company, and I will not squander it.”

Despite acknowledging Femi’s strengths, such as size and power, Ivar remained confident in his own battle-tested experience as the War Beard. He concluded with a direct challenge to Femi: “Ivar’s ready, but is Oba?”
