The Duggar family is expanding once more with the recent engagement of Jason Duggar, the 12th child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Jason, a star of the show “Counting On,” proposed to his girlfriend, Maddie Grace, in a romantic beach setting.
The proposal featured a beautifully arranged display on the sand with red roses and candles spelling out “Will you marry me?” Jason, 24, dropped to one knee and presented Maddie with a ring, marking a special moment in their relationship.
Maddie Grace shared the exciting news on Instagram, where she expressed her immense joy and excitement. Her post included the date of the proposal, August 24, and revealed that she had already updated her social media profile to include the Duggar surname. She also hinted at a wedding date in the spring of 2025 with the hashtag #spring2025.
Photographer Kayla Johnson, who captured the couple’s engagement shoot, also shared photos of the proposal and praised the couple’s relationship. Kayla described Jason as “the most intentional, kind human” and noted that Maddie complements him perfectly. Jason had previously made his relationship with Maddie public in late May by sharing photos of them together on Instagram, though he did not initially disclose her name.
Jason’s engagement is notable as he is one of the remaining adult Duggar children to get engaged. His proposal to Maddie occurred just nine days after attending his sister Jana Duggar’s wedding to Stephen Wissmann in their home state of Arkansas, marking another significant event in the Duggar family’s ongoing milestones.
