ENA’s upcoming drama, “The Midnight Studio,” teases viewers with new footage in anticipation of its highly awaited premiere. The series revolves around a unique professional photo studio catering exclusively to the deceased.

Joo Won takes on the role of Seo Ki Joo, a sharp-edged photographer managing the studio, with Kwon Nara portraying Han Bom, an impassioned lawyer offering legal counsel to the visiting ghosts.

In a sneak peek of the first episode, viewers are given insight into the curse haunting Seo Ki Joo’s family for generations. The chilling teaser unfolds as Park Byung Eun, in a special appearance, introduces a mystical camera to his ailing son. Handing over the camera, he cryptically discloses, “Hold on to this tightly. I stole it from the underworld.”

This seemingly altruistic act takes a dark turn, leading to a pact with an enigmatic entity. In exchange for saving his son’s life, the man agrees to a deal where future family members are cursed, relentlessly pursued by the deceased and destined to live only until the age of 35. Unaware of the grim consequences, the father willingly seals the pact to secure his son’s well-being.

Another teaser provides a glimpse into the daily life of Seo Ki Joo, burdened by the inherited curse spanning generations. Attempting to steal a nap during a church service, he is abruptly awakened by Assistant Manager Ko (Yoo In Soo).

Seo Ki Joo insists on delaying his duties, but the determined Assistant Manager insists that being self-employed means he must cater to clients whenever called upon. Despite Seo Ki Joo’s attempt to argue his case regarding working hours, Assistant Manager Ko asserts, “You’re not a wage earner—you’re self-employed. Self-employed people have to go whenever the client calls. Let’s go.”

Baek Nam Goo, a rookie ghost employee, then carries Seo Ki Joo away, leaving the churchgoers in astonishment.

“The Midnight Studio” is scheduled to premiere on March 11 at 10 PM KST and will be accessible on Viki. As the drama unfolds, audiences can anticipate a unique blend of supernatural elements and the challenges faced by Seo Ki Joo as he navigates the haunting legacy of his family.
