The release of the official art for the popular anime series “Haikyuu” has generated a buzz among its dedicated fanbase. This excitement stems from the fact that the anime series is gradually approaching its conclusion and the upcoming movie promises to play a pivotal role in wrapping up the storyline.

Amidst this anticipation, another anime series, “Jujutsu Kaisen,” has been making waves on the internet. Surprisingly, fans of the volleyball-themed anime “Haikyuu” have drawn connections between the official art and the popular shonen anime “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

Although this may seem like an unexpected pairing at first glance, a significant portion of the fanbase has found a way to link these two distinct series.

Fans Of The Jujutsu Kaisen Have Spotted Yuji Itadori In The Offical Art of Haikyuu

The image shared alongside the original post reveals an intriguing detail that caught the eye of a keen fan.

In the background of the official art for the popular anime series “Haikyuu,” one of the characters bears a striking resemblance to Yuji Itadori from the acclaimed series “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

The fan astutely pointed out this similarity, drawing a connection between the two characters based primarily on their shared pink hair color.

However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the character in question is not, in fact, Yuji Itadori from “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

Instead, the character is a minor supporting figure in “Haikyuu,” and there are no actual crossovers between the two series.

The most likely identity of this character is Haruki Komi, a libero who represents the Fukurodani school, known as one of the top powerhouses in the country, boasting an exceptional spiker named Bokuto.

The confusion arises from a subtle difference in the portrayal of Haruki Komi’s hair color. In the anime adaptation, his hair appears to be a slightly different shade compared to its depiction in the original manga.

This discrepancy in coloration has led fans to humorously refer to him as “Yuji Itadori,” drawing a playful connection between the two characters based solely on their shared pink hair hue.

A portion of the “Jujutsu Kaisen” fanbase embraced the fan’s imaginative connection between the character in the “Haikyuu” official art and Yuji Itadori.

This enthusiasm stems from an understanding of Yuji’s arduous journey in the anime and manga series.

From the outset, Yuji faced a death sentence for the selfless act of saving a stranger’s life. Since then, his life has been a constant uphill battle, leaving fans yearning for a moment of respite and happiness for their beloved protagonist.

Seeing the character’s resemblance to Yuji, fans playfully speculated that he was destined for the world of volleyball but was ultimately thrust into the realm of sorcery.

His athleticism would undoubtedly have lent itself well to a sport like volleyball. Given Yuji Itadori’s complex and challenging circumstances, fans expressed a desire for him to find solace in the vibrant world of “Haikyuu.”

However, it is important to reiterate that Yuji Itadori is not actually present in the “Haikyuu” official art. The character in question is most likely Haruki Komi, a supporting character in the “Haikyuu” series.

More About Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuji Itadori is a high school student from Sendai with extraordinary physical strength.

On his deathbed in June 2018, his grandfather imparted two powerful messages to Yuji: “always help others” and “die surrounded by people.” Yuji’s friends at the Occult Club inadvertently attracted Curses to their school when they unsealed a rotten finger talisman.

To protect Jujutsu Sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji swallowed the finger, becoming the host to a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna.

Due to Sukuna’s evil nature, all sorcerers are required to exorcise him (and, by extension, Yuji) immediately.

However, upon witnessing Yuji’s ability to retain control over his body, Megumi’s teacher Satoru Gojo brought him to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School with a proposal to his superiors: delay Yuji’s death sentence and trained him under Gojo until he consumes all 20 of Sukuna’s fingers, allowing the Curse to be eliminated.

Simultaneously, a group of Cursed Spirits, including the Cursed Spirit Mahito and a corrupted sorcerer named Suguru Geto (who was executed by Gojo a year prior), plotted a multi-layered attack on the world of Jujutsu sorcery.
