Justin Timberlake has reached a plea agreement in his DWI case, nearly three months after his arrest in Sag Harbor, New York.

The 43-year-old singer is scheduled for a court hearing in New York on Friday, Sept. 13. Timberlake has agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge after initially being arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Although Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., has consistently maintained that Timberlake was “not intoxicated” at the time of his June 18 arrest, the “Selfish” singer was charged with one count of DWI and received two additional citations: one for running a stop sign and another for failing to stay in his lane.

According to the arrest report, Timberlake told the arresting officer, “I had one martini, and I followed my friends home.”

The report detailed that while on routine patrol, the officer observed Timberlake’s 2025 BMW run through a stop sign and fail to remain in the correct lane.

After initiating a traffic stop, the officer noted that Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy,” there was a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, and he displayed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, unsteadiness, and poor performance on field sobriety tests..

Justin Timberlake Arrested

Timberlake refused a breathalyzer test after being taken to the police station, which led to his license being suspended for a year in New York during an August hearing. Burke explained that this suspension is “standard with every DUI.”

In July, Burke filed a motion to dismiss the case, but he later withdrew the motion at the August hearing, during which Timberlake entered a not-guilty plea while appearing virtually from Antwerp, Belgium.

During that same hearing, Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace cautioned Burke against making public statements to the media, asserting that such remarks could be seen as an attempt to influence the case before it proceeded. .

Irace even threatened to issue a gag order and require Timberlake to attend court in person.

Additionally, a second August hearing revealed that a subpoena had been issued to the American Hotel, where Timberlake had spent time prior to his arrest. The hotel was reportedly cooperating with the case.

Currently, Timberlake is in the middle of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is set to continue until June 2025. His next scheduled performance is on Sept. 28 in Newark, New Jersey.
