Katie Price has faced bankruptcy once again due to an outstanding tax bill of £761,994.05, as disclosed in court on Monday. Despite repeated attempts by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) to address the debt, Price had not responded. The demand for payment was initiated by HMRC in October.

This marks Price’s second bankruptcy, following her initial declaration in 2019 for unpaid debts. Notably, she did not appear at the brief court hearing.

During the hearing at London’s Rolls Building, it was revealed that the bill “derives from self-assessments” for the fiscal years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, encompassing income tax, VAT, surcharges, and interest.

Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis stated,

“There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order. There is a substantial debt due from Ms. Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order.”

In February, Katie Price was mandated to relinquish 40% of her earnings from OnlyFans, spanning three years, in a separate dispute concerning unpaid debts. Scheduled for April, she faces financial inquiries regarding this matter.

The bankruptcy order follows Price’s £880 fine for driving without insurance and a license in Northamptonshire last August.

She candidly discussed her bankruptcy on Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast in August 2023, expressing indifference towards potential imprisonment, having been to court numerous times.

In March of the previous year, she opened up on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show about her mental health struggles, emphasizing the destigmatization of bankruptcy.

During a financial hearing in October 2020, Price admitted her inability to address these issues due to her mental state.
