Wide receiver Keenan Allen is wasting no time in getting acquainted with his new team, the Chicago Bears. Despite his recent arrival via an offseason trade from the Los Angeles Chargers, Allen made an appearance at USC’s pro day to observe quarterback Caleb Williams, who is considered the frontrunner to be selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With the Bears currently in possession of that top pick, Williams could soon become Allen’s new quarterback target.

During the pro day, Allen and Williams were seen interacting on the field, signaling the potential development of a promising QB-WR connection for the Bears. If the draft unfolds as expected, Allen will have the opportunity to catch passes from Williams in the near future.

Acquired by the Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick, Allen arrives with an impressive resume, coming off a standout season with the Chargers where he recorded 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and 7 touchdowns, despite missing four games due to injury.

Williams, speaking highly of Allen’s skills and character, emphasized the veteran receiver’s impact and expressed admiration for his on-field performance and off-field demeanor.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles was reportedly present at the pro day, further indicating the team’s keen interest in scouting potential franchise players like Williams. With Allen’s presence and Poles’ involvement, the Bears appear committed to thorough evaluation and planning for the future of the franchise.

The timing of Allen’s visit coincides with the recent trade of quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, signaling a significant shift in the Bears’ quarterback situation. As they seek a new signal-caller, Williams emerges as a leading candidate, backed by his impressive performance during the 2023 season, where he amassed 3,633 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and just five interceptions for USC.
