Laura Merritt Walker and her family are grieving a devastating loss. The lifestyle blogger, known as one half of Merritt & Style, along with her husband David Walker, shared the heartbreaking news of the passing of their youngest son, 3-year-old Callahan, on Instagram on Monday.
The couple shared poignant images and videos, including a family photo featuring Callahan, followed by snapshots of them holding his hand while he lay in his hospital bed, and a tender video of Callahan reading a bedtime story.
In the caption accompanying these posts, Laura and David express their profound sorrow, stating they are “brokenhearted” by the loss of their beloved toddler.
“We are completely broken-hearted to share that we lost our precious Callahan in a tragic accident last week,” the caption on the joint post begins.
“He was such a blessing and brought so much joy to our whole family. Cal-Bear was absolutely adored by his big brothers and loved them beyond measure. As parents, we are completely shattered at the loss of our baby boy.”
“We take comfort knowing he is being held in the arms of Jesus. We would be honored to have your prayers for peace and strength over our family during this impossible time.”
A sergeant from the Frisco Police Department in Texas confirmed that FPD officers responded to a drowning call involving a child last week. Further details about the incident leading to Callahan’s death remain undisclosed.
“I’ll be praying for you and your family, this absolutely breaks my heart because I know this heartache and I’m just so sorry,” Brittani Boren Leach, another influencer who has sadly experienced child loss, commented.
Bachelor Nation’s Raven Gates also commented, writing,

In the days following the heartbreaking announcement, David has shared recent photos of Callahan on his Instagram Story but has refrained from further comments. The couple, who are also parents to sons Chamberlain, aged 7½, and Beckham, aged 10, are navigating this difficult time with their family.
