Long-Awaited Updates Revealed for ‘Gekijōban Mononoke: Karakasa’ Anime Film

Twin Engine has treated fans to a thrilling peak into the upcoming “Gekijōban Mononoke: Karakasa” anime film with the release of its full trailer and main visual on Thursday.

The trailer not only offers an exciting preview of the film’s visuals and action-packed scenes but also introduces new cast members and previews the theme song, “Love Sick,” by singer Aina The End.

Among the newly announced cast members are some familiar names in the anime industry, including Kana Hanazawa, who will portray Kitagawa, a maid admired by the protagonist Asa.

Additionally, Haruka Tomatsu joins the cast as Botan Ōtomo, a lady-in-waiting from a prestigious family, and Yōko Hikasa lends her voice to Fuki Tokita, a character who rises in favor despite her low commoner status.

The ensemble cast also includes talented performers such as Yūko Kaida, Yukana, Yūki Kaji, Jun Fukuyama, Daisuke Hosomi, Miyu Irino, and Kenjiro Tsuda, adding depth and richness to the film’s characters.

The film, set to open in Japan on July 26, has been highly anticipated by fans.” Originally slated for release last year, the film faced delays, with the staff announcing in February 2023 that Takahiro Sakurai would no longer voice the Medicine Seller as planned.

Instead, Hiroshi Kamiya will take on the role of the protagonist, ensuring a terrific performance for audiences to enjoy.
