Mary Bonnet is at a pivotal moment in her fertility journey with her husband, Romain Bonnet. As she promotes her newly released book, Selling Sunshine, she reflects on their shared uncertainty about the future. In an exclusive interview, Mary emphasized that their focus is on taking things one step at a time.

With her busy schedule filled with book promotions and the latest season of Selling Sunset, she recognizes that stress could hinder their efforts to conceive.

At 44, Mary faces significant medical hurdles, including a diagnosis of a septate uterus, which requires surgery before they can pursue further fertility options. She explained that the upcoming procedure is essential for her health, and she will need time to recover before moving forward. This healing period is crucial as they contemplate their next steps, particularly after previous attempts to freeze embryos ended unsuccessfully.

Amid these challenges, Mary and Romain draw comfort from their existing family, which includes her 27-year-old son, Austin, and their cherished pets. Mary noted Romain’s deep affection for their dog, Thor, and expressed that their current family unit is fulfilling.

She remains optimistic, suggesting that if expanding their family doesn’t happen, they will still find happiness together, trusting that everything will unfold as it should.

Mary’s fertility struggles have been marked by trials, including a disappointing experience with embryo freezing. In her book, she detailed that out of 15 eggs retrieved, only three reached the fertilization stage, and all were deemed abnormal after genetic testing.

After a period of reflection, they decided to try conceiving naturally during a trip to Bali, where she was surprised to learn she was pregnant. However, she later experienced the heartbreak of a septic miscarriage, adding complexity to her journey.

Through her book, Mary aims to connect with others who face similar struggles, sharing her personal health issues, including ADHD and IBS. The positive responses she has received from fans and followers have reinforced her commitment to openness.

By discussing her fertility challenges, she hopes to foster a sense of community, helping others feel understood and less isolated during their own difficult times. Her story reflects a powerful message of resilience and support in the face of adversity.
