Episode 3 of Masters of the Air begins with the aftermath of the Bloody Hundredth’s most deadly mission yet. The survivors of that horrific fight, who are now dispersed over two continents, are the subject of Episode 4.

While others are lost in enemy territory, the fortunate few who return to base get ready for their next operation. Another gripping episode of Season 1 as the stories branch out into several fascinating arcs.

Beginning with the survivors making their way home, “Part Four” They have lost numerous crew members, including Van Noy, Claytor, and Curt, though they are unaware of it yet. Quinn is stuck in Belgium, but he made it through the battle. He ultimately gets back in touch with Bailey after hiding out with a farmer’s family.

Along the way, his colleague became friends with an American soldier named Bob. Bob, Quinn, and Bailey are questioned by their allies.

Their American identity needs to be demonstrated to them. However, Bob—who it turns out was a German agent posing as an American—is killed by the Allies. When Bailey and Quinn learn that Bob is an infiltrator, they are shocked.

Recap

The crewmen spoke about their ultimate goal, which is to travel back home and be with their loved ones, back in Blighty. After they successfully finish 25 consecutive missions, they will be permitted to return home.

After returning from his 25th mission, Lt. Glenn Dye is celebrated by the squadron during his final days in England. When talking about this incredible accomplishment, the gang mentions that only 12 of their original 35 teams are still alive. These days, their chances of completing the coveted 25 missions look improbable.

Bucky and Gale meet Rosenthal and Nash, the recruits. Gale has already accomplished 21 tasks, and he is getting close to his ideal goal. When Rosenthal begs for help, Gale and Bucky are fed up with everything. They think that in the end, it all boils down to pure luck.

Quinn and Bailey return to Belgium and begin their dangerous mission home. They receive a French guide to help them on their way back. Quinn conceals a letter from the farmer’s daughter while lying about Babyface’s passing and putting the two in danger.

Quinn loses it at a strongly guarded train station and flees. Thankfully, the French saved him without raising too many red flags. But Quinn is starting to show his true colours.

To unwind and recuperate, Bucky travels to England and indulges in excessive drinking in London. He makes advances on a woman in a pub. They spend the night together dozing and watching the bombings from her apartment window in the distance.

The gang gets ready for their next operation in the base, without Bucky’s help this time. They intend to bomb Bremen’s U-boats once more. Before takeoff, Gale’s plane has a few technical difficulties, but Ken can fix it in time.

We witness the tense scenario from the perspective of the rest of the crew, but we are not shown this most recent battle action. Few planes return home from base. Eighty personnel and eight planes are missing and thought to be dead. Every major player, including Crosby and Gale, is missing.
