Exciting news from MBC’s latest drama! “Chief Detective 1958,” starring Lee Je Hoon and Lee Dong Hwi, has kicked off with a bang, setting a new record for premiere ratings on Friday-Saturday dramas in MBC’s history.

This new series serves as a prequel to the beloved Korean classic “Chief Inspector,” which captured audiences’ hearts from 1971 to 1989 with remarkable success. While its predecessor was set in the 1970s and 1980s, “Chief Detective 1958” takes viewers back even further to 1958, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved franchise.

On April 19, “Chief Detective 1958” made waves by achieving an impressive average nationwide rating of 10.1 per cent for its debut episode, marking it as the most-watched program of any kind to air on Friday. This milestone underscores the drama’s immediate popularity and the strong appeal of its thrilling storyline and talented cast.
