In June 2022, Vince McMahon faced allegations of misconduct and paid $3 million in hush money. Recently, he was hit with a sex trafficking lawsuit, prompting him to seek arbitration to resolve the matter privately. However, Janel Grant, the plaintiff, contests this move.

On January 25th, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon, alleging sexual assault and coercion dating back to 2019. The lawsuit raised concerns about workplace culture within WWE.

Legal Battle Unfolds

McMahon filed a motion to compel arbitration in response, denying Grant’s claims. Grant’s lawyer responded to this legal maneuver.

According to Brandon Thurston, Grant filed a motion to strike against McMahon’s filings, criticizing his personal attacks and misuse of arbitration. Grant aims to remove defamatory statements from the legal proceedings.

McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, defended McMahon’s response, arguing that since Grant chose a public court for the lawsuit, McMahon has the right to publicly address the accusations. The legal battle continues, with McMahon and Grant awaiting the court’s decision on the motion to strike.

As the case unfolds, the wrestling world eagerly awaits the outcome, which could have far-reaching implications for both parties involved and potentially reshape the landscape of WWE’s legal practices and workplace policies.
