For the Heat to secure the tiebreaker, the Sixers must lose at least one of their remaining two games, even if Miami wins both. However, it seems unlikely for Miami to surpass the fifth and sixth-seeded Orlando Magic (46-34) and Indiana Pacers (46-34), respectively, who are 2.0 games ahead.

Miami holds a 3-1 season series advantage over the Magic but fell short 2-1 against the Pacers. The Heat currently possess the tiebreaker against the Magic. With 6.5 games ahead of the ninth-placed Chicago Bulls (37-42), Miami has already clinched a spot in the play-in round, as per NBA website standings.
In their upcoming matches against the struggling Toronto Raptors (25-55) on Friday and Sunday, the Heat have a chance to secure crucial wins.
A strong performance against Toronto, coupled with some assistance from the Sixers’ games, could ensure Miami finishes in the top seven, granting them homecourt advantage in the play-in game.
Miami’s playoff aspirations primarily rest on their top-five defense, compensating for their 21st-ranked offensive rating. However, for a deep postseason run, they’ll likely need contributions beyond star forward Jimmy Butler and center Herro on the offensive end.
