Michael Madsen, widely recognized for his roles in Quentin Tarantino films, particularly as Budd in Kill Bill, is currently embroiled in legal trouble. The actor was arrested early on August 17th for a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
After his arrest, Madsen was taken to the Lost Hills police station in Los Angeles. He was released later that morning after posting a $20,000 bond.
The arrest stemmed from an incident involving Madsen and his wife of nearly 30 years, DeAnna Madsen. Allegedly, during a dispute, Madsen pushed DeAnna and subsequently locked her out of their Los Angeles home.
Police arrived shortly after the incident, although DeAnna refused medical treatment. A representative for the couple described the altercation as a disagreement and expressed hope that the matter would be resolved amicably.
This recent arrest is not Madsen’s first encounter with the law. In 2022, the actor was arrested for trespassing in Malibu, California. That incident resulted in a citizen’s arrest, and Madsen was released on a $500 bail.
The trespassing incident occurred just a month after Madsen and DeAnna experienced a devastating personal tragedy—their oldest son, Hudson, took his own life at the age of 26 after returning home from his first tour with the U.S. Army.
The death of Hudson deeply affected Madsen and his family. They released a statement expressing their overwhelming grief and sorrow, noting that Hudson’s memory would live on with those who knew and loved him.
Madsen later shared his personal anguish, revealing that his last communication with Hudson was a loving text message and that he had not seen any signs of depression, making the loss even more difficult to comprehend.
