Mithril Interactive is set to launch Dungeonborne, a first-person player-versus-player-versus-enemy dungeon crawler extraction sim, into early access on July 18th. Players team up with friends to delve into subterranean depths, loot treasures, and escape before falling prey to vermin or rival player teams.

The game features eight distinct classes Fighter, Priest, Rogue, and more, each with unique abilities such as quad-wielding, blade spinning, and summoning aggressive shrubbery. Two main areas, Clouseau Castle and Sinner’s End, provide varied settings for exploration and combat.

During a playtest, the melee combat mechanics were highlighted, emphasizing strategic circling and precise timing for attacks. Players can choose between dungeon raids or competitive arena battles, catering to both cooperative and competitive gaming preferences.

For those familiar with classics like Rune and Deathtrap Dungeon, Dungeonborne promises a nostalgic appeal while also introducing modern gameplay elements and challenges.

Comparisons with the already-released Dark And Darker are inevitable, with humorous distinctions drawn such as superior character beards in the latter.

Dungeonborne aims to carve out its niche with engaging combat dynamics and diverse class options, appealing to both casual dungeon explorers and hardcore strategists alike. Players can anticipate finding Dungeonborne on Steam, poised to offer a blend of old-school dungeon-crawling charm and contemporary gaming innovation.
