NCT’s Doyoung Finds Joy In Dating Programs But Stays Grounded: “SM Idols Receive Mental Education”

NCT127’s Doyoung shares his daily routine and passion for dating programs on "I Live Alone".

During the April 19th episode of MBC’s “I Live Alone”, NCT127’s Doyoung made a guest appearance and shared insights into his daily life living alone.

Starting his day by watching the dating program “Transit Love”, Doyoung confessed, “I get annoyed whenever I watch programs like this, but it raises my dopamine. I’ve also watched ‘I Am SOLO’, ‘Single’s Inferno’ and ‘Alumni Lovers’”. He even attempted to multitask by watching the show while doing laundry, eliciting laughter from viewers.

Amidst a morning workout and preparing breakfast, Doyoung revealed his enthusiasm for cooking, stating, “I like to cook and I cook very often so I’m not worried about eating at home”. Enjoying his meal with non-alcoholic beer, he remained hooked on the dating show, surprising the panellists with his deep interest.

When asked if he puts himself in the couples’ shoes while watching, Doyoung responded candidly, “No, I don’t do that. Because I’m an idol”. He clarified that he doesn’t envy the couples featured on the shows.

Key, another idol from SM Entertainment, chimed in humorously, mentioning the mental education they receive as SM idols. Key joked, “We got mental education about this in SM basement. A regular course is 2 years”, teasing that it seems to have stayed with them for 20 years.

Reflecting on the discussion, Doyoung remained grounded despite his exposure to dating programs, showcasing his unique perspective shaped by his experiences as an idol under SM Entertainment.
