NewJeans’ Parents Denounce HYBE as “Despicable”, Dispute Source Music Story as “Fake”

Min Hee-Jin, discloses text messages from NewJeans' parents, who express support for Min Hee-jin and criticize HYBE.

During a press conference on April 25th, Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, revealed text messages from parents of NewJeans members, showcasing their support for her and denunciation of HYBE. The parents expressed outrage over HYBE’s narrative, particularly disputing claims that Min Hee-jin took trainees from Source Music.

In response to HYBE’s assertions, the parents labelled the story as “a complete lie” and accused HYBE of intentionally spreading misinformation to depict ADOR and NewJeans in a negative light. The parents’ messages conveyed frustration with how HYBE’s narrative affected perceptions of NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM.

Messages included statements such as, “Their claims make fans of LE SSERAFIM have a bad impression of NewJeans” and “They made up a blatant lie about the CEO stealing trainees from Source Music, putting Source Music in debt, to the point of disbanding GFriend…” These sentiments underscore the deepening divide and escalating tensions in the K-pop industry.

The parents’ messages highlight the impact of corporate disputes on artists and the influence of narratives in shaping public perception in the competitive K-pop industry.
