As an undrafted rookie, Butler enjoyed a notable career spanning seven active seasons in the NFL. His defining moment came during Super Bowl XLIX, where he secured his place in NFL lore by making the game-winning interception. During his four seasons with the New England Patriots, Butler played a pivotal role in winning two Super Bowls.

The first victory was sealed with his interception of Russell Wilson at the goal line, securing a 28-24 win over the defending champion Seattle Seahawks.
