He emphasized the need for a script that allows him to add his unique flavor and contribute pop and spark to the storyline. Cage, a self-professed Trekkie, expressed his love for the franchise and specified his ideal role—being on the Enterprise’s bridge rather than floating in space.

In a previous interview, Cage had conveyed his preference for Star Trek over Star Wars, emphasizing the genre’s capacity to explore political and sociological themes freely.
