The tragic event unfolded on August 9 when officers responded to a stabbing report at the Mortimer family’s Green Township home.

Court documents suggest that Kenneth, who had been told by his mother he couldn’t stay the night, reacted violently by attacking his parents. The documents detail that Kenneth grabbed a knife from the kitchen and assaulted his parents while they were seated on the couch. After initially stabbing them, Kenneth allegedly dragged his mother back inside the house and continued to stab her when she attempted to escape.

Following the attack, Kenneth fled the scene in a vehicle but was quickly apprehended by the police. He admitted to the stabbings after being transported to the Green Township Police Department. Kenneth Mortimer is now being held at the Hamilton County Jail with a $2 million cash bond, and he is scheduled to appear before the grand jury on August 20.

As of now, it is unclear whether Kenneth Mortimer has entered a plea or secured legal representation. The case remains under investigation as authorities and legal proceedings continue.
