A possible backstage spoiler has surfaced, indicating that WrestleMania 40 may feature a multi-star Intercontinental Championship battle, despite no official decision having been made.
Gunther’s WrestleMania 40 Opponent
On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that he had heard about Gunther and Sami Zayn competing in a singles battle.
However, following Monday Night Raw, he made it apparent that there might be more than one match at WrestleMania 40. Meltzer stated that although they wouldn’t do a fight royal, they could because many people were vying for the top spot.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated, “I was aware of Gunther and Sami Zayn, but after watching the event tonight, it was evident that Chad Gable was involved, suggesting that it would be a multi-person contest. Sami, Gable, The Miz, and R-Truth were all mentioned by Gunther.
Although I doubt it, they could do a battle royale. However, Gunther appeared to have a diverse range of programming on the show.
