The main team and picture for the Puniru wa Kawaii Slime (Puniru is a Cute Slime) anime, based on Maedakun’s web manga, were announced on the series’ official website last Saturday.

Yūshi Ibe, known for Tearmoon Empire, is directing the series at TOHO Animation Studio. Michiko Yokote, who worked on Shirobako, Prison School, Cowboy Bebop, and Rurouni Kenshin, is supervising the series scripts.

Aya Tanaka, recognized for her work on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II as a sub-character designer and chief animation director, is in charge of character design.

The manga is a romantic comedy about Kotarō, who creates a slime named Puniru. After seven years, Puniru turns into a beautiful young lady.

Maedakun started the manga in Shogakukan’s “Shūkan Coro Coro Comics” (“Weekly Coro Coro Comics”) online magazine in March 2022.

About Puniru wa Kawaii Slime

A young boy named Kotaro Kawaii created a slime for a science experiment, and it magically came to life. The slime, named Puniru, looks like a penguin and thinks Kotaro is cute, even though he won’t admit it.

Fast forward seven years, Kotaro is now in his second year of junior high school and struggling to confess his feelings to Mami Kirara, who is a year older.
