Masters of the Air is a 2024 American combat drama streaming television miniseries on Apple TV+, created by John Shiban and John Orloff. It is based on the same-titled book by Donald L. Miller from 2007, which details the adventures of the 100th Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force.
During World War II, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber unit operated in eastern England. There is a companion series for Band of Brothers (2001) and The Pacific (2010). It is the first television series, produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with Playtone and Amblin Television.
Masters of the Air debuted on January 26, 2024. The series received favorable reviews.

In the ninth episode of “Masters of the Air,” viewers will see POWs effectively executing their escape strategy, escaping from custody, and avoiding the enemy.
A tantalizing teaser for the miniseries conclusion reveals that the POWs will, in fact, succeed in breaking out of Stalag Luft III. The number of people that will survive the ordeal is still unknown, though, so fans are waiting nervously for the publication of the last episode.
The focus of “Masters of the Air”‘s last episode will likewise be Major Robert Rosenthal. His aircraft gets hit during a bombing mission over Nuremberg, putting him in danger as he descends into enemy territory.
“The POWs are marched across Germany, and Rosie makes a gruesome discovery, as the war comes to an end,” is how “Masters of the Air” Episode 9 is officially summarized. The climax looks to be plenty of drama, suspense, and heartbreaking moments as the fate of the Tuskegee Airmen and their fellow inmates hangs in the balance.
