The tenth round has finally begun, and we see that there have been some significant changes to the arena. The new arena was set in Kyoto of the Bakamatsu era, and the two sides reveal each of their representative warriors.
The Gods chose Susano’o as their warrior, the man who was said to be the strongest Godslayer and swordsman.
On the other hand, the humans chose the ultimate Manslayer of the Bakamatsu era, who drenched the Kyoto streets with Ishin Shishi loyalists’ blood, and he was quite proud of his glory days. The odds are slightly tilted in God’s favor since they would only need two more wins to completely exterminate humanity.
Not just that, they sent their strongest swordsman Susano’o no Mikoto, for this particular round. It also seems like Susano’o was looking forward to crossing swords with the manslayer Soji Okita.
Soji Okita was Shinsengumi’s first division captain and very proactive in killing all the Ishin Shishi loyalist. Not just that, it is said that swordsmanship reached its peak during Bakamatsu era and Soji was one of the most proficient swordsman active during that particular time.

Recap
In the previous chapter of Record Of Ragnarok, Heimdall announces that the battleground has been changed into Bakumatsu-era Kyoto for the tenth round of Ragnarok. He says this was done in because many were injured by Apollo’s arrows in the previous round.
Heimdall also says that the change was requested by the Gods’ fighter for this round. Heimdall gleefully announces that with humans being pushed up against a wall, the greatest swordsman in Valhalla will be descending.
Finally, the tenth representative of the Gods is revealed and he is the most powerful Godslayer called Susano’o no Mikoto, who also invented swordsmanship.
After that, the tenth representative comes out and everyone is curious to see who it would be. Heimdall had hinted that he was the most prominent manslayer from Bakamatsu era and there were a lot of guesses. The tenth representative turns out to be Soji Okita, the Shinsengumi’s tenth division Captain.
Soji walks up to the arena and he felt pretty nostalgic looking at Kyoto from his glory days. He took a look at an inn and revealed that he had fond memories of this place since he took down twenty Ishin Shishi loyalist in that exact spot. Soji tells Susano’o that he looked very different from the Godslayer that Soji had been imagining.
Susano’o also looked happy and he tells Soji that he had chosen this particular arena and waited for Soji just to get to cross swords with him. Susano’o was elated and extremely excited to fight against Soji Okita, the man who was one of the strongest swordsman in Japan’s history.
