Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann are officially a couple. The relationship between Witherspoon, 48, and financier Haarmann, 57, has turned romantic after initially spending time together as friends.
The new couple were spotted holding hands on Wednesday, September 4, while vacationing in New York City.
After leaving their hotel, Witherspoon and Haarmann were photographed walking hand-in-hand as they made their way to a waiting SUV.
In the photos, Witherspoon was dressed in a short-sleeved black dress and heels, while Haarmann looked sharp in khaki pants paired with a navy-blue blazer and a light blue button-up shirt.
The couple attended an Assouline event that evening, where other notable guests included Roger Federer and Anna Wintour.
This marked the second time Witherspoon and Haarmann had been seen together in just over a month.
They arrived in New York on Monday, July 29, by helicopter and were later seen heading to an apartment in the city.
During their stay, the two were spotted dining together at L’Artusi, a restaurant in the West Village.
Haarmann, in addition to being a financier, is a minority co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders and a founding partner of Searchlight Capital.
Academically, Haarmann holds a BA in international relations and history from Brown University, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Witherspoon, meanwhile, has long been a staple in Hollywood, making her screen debut in the early 1990s with The Man in the Moon.
Since then, she’s become a household name with standout performances in Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions, The Morning Show, and many other hit projects.
Currently, Witherspoon is gearing up for the highly anticipated third season of Big Little Lies, in which she both stars and produces alongside Nicole Kidman.
In June, Witherspoon and Kidman discussed the show’s return, which is based on the bestselling novel by Liane Moriarty, in an interview with *Vanity Fair*.
“I always get the call: ‘Is [season 3] happening?’” Witherspoon said to Kidman. “You got excited.”
Kidman admitted her enthusiasm, to which Witherspoon responded that she and the rest of their costars—Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley—are eager as well.
“I get it, Nic. I get excited too. Then I have Laura, Zoe, and Shailene calling me like, ‘Nic said we’re doing Big Little Lies season three?’” Witherspoon shared.
While the cast is clearly excited about the project, no release date for season 3 has been announced yet.
