Following Tubi’s unexpected Wynonna Earp reveal, several key performers have confirmed that their cherished roles would be making a comeback in Wynonna Earp: Vengeance. In 2024, five years after the conclusion of the show, Wynonna Earp is scheduled to return to television.

The announcement from streamer and over-the-top content provider Tubi comes after the series’ fairly confusing 2021 non-cancellation. The four seasons of the popular supernatural-meets-Western drama Wynonna Earp were broadcast on Syfy following its 2015 acquisition of the U.S. rights to the character.

Although Syfy declared that season 4 would be the last, CTV Sci-Fi Channel, the network’s Canadian equivalent, never formally cancelled Wynonna Earp. The ambiguous circumstances surrounding the show’s finale gave viewers hope for a new chapter in the narrative.

Even Emily Andras, the creator of the series, expressed her desire to write a story set in the Wynonna Earp universe in the future. Wynonna Earp: Vengeance’s existence now demonstrates that fandoms may triumph without using poisonous tactics.

Though the premise of Vengeance is unknown, Tubi disclosed which Wynonna Earp actors and characters will be back in the ninety-minute film.

Melanie Scrofano

In the absence of the lead character of the series, Wynonna Earp: Vengeance would not exist. Melanie Scrofano portrays Wynonna, the great-great-granddaughter of renowned lawman Wyatt Earp of the Wild West.

Wynonna is charged with sending revenants—resurrected versions of outlaws Wyatt previously killed—back to Hell with her ancestor’s magic gun, Peacemaker.

But Wynonna’s destiny is more complex than simply lifting her family’s curse. Her hometown of Purgatory becomes the home of many supernatural beings and demons, which makes the gun-wielding hero’s job more difficult.

Dominique Provost-Chalkley

Without question, Wynonna Earp’s comeback is positive for LGBTQ+ representation, and a big part of the excitement stems from Waverly Earp, played by Dominique Provost-Chalkley.

Waverly is an authority on the Earp Curse, and her familiarity with folklore, ancient history, and languages frequently turns out to be knowledge that saves lives. Since Waverly’s father is an angel, it ultimately comes to light that Wynonna’s younger half-sister possesses extraterrestrial talents as well.

Waverly is an essential member of Wynonna’s squad even without her heavenly abilities, which makes her formal comeback in Vengeance all the more thrilling.

Tim Rozon

After becoming immortal, Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon), a lifelong ally of the Earps, finds himself stuck in a well for a century. Although the 21st century holds many surprises for him, Doc demonstrates his unwavering allegiance.

Doc and Wynonna share a turbulent romantic connection that lasts the entire season; the two are even parents to a girl together. The Wynonna Earp ending appeared to set up Doc’s demise, yet the gunslinger survived.

He attempted to leave town since he was worried that he and Wynonna wouldn’t work out, but Wynonna surprised him by shooting out his tyres and going on a brand-new family adventure.

Katherine Barrell

Officer Nicole Haught, Katherine Barrell’s other half of the Wayhaught duo, begins her career as the Ghost River County deputy sheriff. The relationship between Waverly and the outspoken gay character starts early in the show and lasts for all four seasons.

Nicole temporarily resigns from her role as Purgatory’s sheriff to defend the Earp homestead, but by the end of the show, she has taken back her badge. Nicole becomes the pillar of support for the Ghost River Triangle, unselfish and loyal.

It will be thrilling to see Haught and Waverly again because they were married in the finale and moved to the homestead.
