Ricki Lake shared insights into her significant weight loss journey, clarifying that it wasn’t attributed to mainstream drugs like Ozempic or Mounjaro, but rather to traditional methods of diet and exercise.

The 55-year-old former talk show host expressed her joy on social media, commemorating her weight loss achievement by sharing a photo of herself wearing the same dress she adorned 17 years ago at the premiere of the documentary “The Business of Being Born.”

“Oh, this old thing??” she wrote in the Instagram caption on Wednesday. “Just had it hanging around.”

Alongside a flurry of comments from followers who heralded the weight loss, fellow former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell wrote:

“Can’t believe [you] keep clothes for so long!!!!”

“Ozempic is really working for you. You’ve lost a lot of weight,” another person commented.

Despite a doctor’s recommendation to opt for medication to aid in weight loss, Lake affirmed her decision to abstain from trendy drugs favored by celebrities and the affluent.

“He was saying [I wasn’t] going to be successful without it,” the “Hairspray” breakout told “Good Morning America” in an interview that aired Thursday. “I like a challenge. I like proving people wrong. It pissed me off.”

Lake credited her 35-pound weight loss since October to a holistic approach to well-being, adopting lifestyle modifications such as regular exercise, intermittent fasting, and adhering to the keto diet.

In February, she took to Instagram to announce her weight loss journey, emphasizing her personal commitment to prioritize her health and wellness.

“I think it’s safe to say I’m in the best shape of my life,” she said on “GMA,” adding, “This is what happy looks like. I could cry. I’m so happy.”
