Three weeks ago, the Western Conference Playoff picture seemed decided. But suddenly, the Rockets are on a winning streak, challenging the Warriors for a playoff spot.

Houston’s streak began while Golden State faltered, leaving the door open for the Rockets to grab the final Play-In spot.

The Warriors currently lead the Rockets by just one game for the No. 10 seed. Star player Stephen Curry played limited minutes in a recent loss, with coach Steve Kerr emphasizing the team’s need for collective effort.

“We can’t just rely on Steph every game,” Kerr said. “We’ve put too much on him for 15 years… A few minutes less won’t decide our fate.”

Warriors remaining schedule

Curry remains the top scorer at 26.8 points per game, but needs support. While Kuminga shines, Klay Thompson’s season has been inconsistent. Draymond Green and rookie Brandin Podziemski contribute, but injuries sideline Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins.

With a shaky season, the Warriors must fight for their Play-In spot. The team faces nine more games, with a critical matchup against the Rockets on April 4 in Houston.

Golden State has an easier schedule compared to the Rockets, per Tankathon. As of March 26, their playoff chances stand at 26.5 percent, while the Rockets lag at six percent. The Ringer gives the Warriors a 92 percent Play-In chance, and 26 percent playoff probability.

With a slim lead over the Rockets, the Warriors must fend off challengers like the Lakers. Sitting 1.5 games ahead of Golden State, LA adds pressure to the tight Western Conference race.
