Romeo Beckham and Mia Regan, both 21, announced their split via Instagram statements on Sunday. Fans are quite upset about it though.
“Mooch and I have parted ways after 5 years of love,” Romeo wrote over a selfie of himself and Regan sticking their tongues out at each other. “We still have a lot of love and respect for each other, and still hold a strong friendship and always will.”
Regan also shared a selfie with Romeo on her Story, as she wrote,
“This is ro, we have grown up with each other since we were 16!! Love takes different forms & paths as you mature.”
“While she shared that the pair are no longer together “romantically,” she said they still “share lots & lots of love for one another… after 5 years we friend-zoned each other hehe.”
The ex-couple commenced their relationship at the age of 16 in 2019, but it wasn’t until two years later, at a Wimbledon event, that they made their first public appearance together. Their debut on the red carpet as a couple occurred in November 2021, when Regan shared with Vogue that Victoria Beckham had helped calm her nerves before the significant event.
“Even just talking about what I’m wearing with her, what nails and make-up I’m going to go for, it’s nice to have that figure,” she told the outlet of the Spice Girls alum.
During her time with Victoria and David Beckham’s second oldest son, the model forged a notably strong bond with Victoria.
In 2022, they collaborated professionally, releasing a six-piece denim capsule for Victoria’s eponymous label. Regarding Regan, the fashion designer, 49, expressed to Vogue,
“Mia has always had a unique approach to fashion and styling. I love that she’s fun and not afraid to try new things when it comes to her personal style, which is reflected in the capsule.”
Romeo and Regan reportedly experienced a brief split in July 2022, attributed to distance. However, they reconciled just five months later, as indicated by Romeo’s Instagram post featuring the model, signaling the revival of their relationship.
They frequently displayed affection for each other on social media, with the Brentford F.C. player often sharing snapshots of their glamorous outings. In July, he posted a photo from Glastonbury showing the model laying in his lap on the grass, captioned, “Crazy how lucky I am with this person :).”
On her birthday in November, Romeo expressed his love and appreciation for Regan on Instagram, sharing several selfies with her and a romantic shot of them kissing on a dancefloor. He wrote in the caption, “HAPPY 21st gorgeous girl I love you so much.”
Romeo demonstrated an enduring display of affection for his girlfriend by getting a tattoo dedicated to her. Regan shared a photo of the new ink – the word “Mooch” – located on his right arm inside his elbow. The tattoo references her nickname and part of her Instagram handle, “Mimi Moocher.”
