After months of speculation, Ryan Gosling is set to perform “I’m Just Ken” live at the Oscars.

A source reports that the actor will sing the Academy Award-nominated song from “Barbie” during the 96th annual ceremony on March 10. The Academy declined to comment.

The question of whether Gosling would showcase his singing talent on the Oscars stage has been a subject of much discussion since both he and the song received nominations in January.

Ryan Gosling insisted that the Academy hadn’t yet asked him to perform.

“It might be too much of a risk to have me do it,” said Gosling, who is up for an acting Oscar for his work as Ken. “I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it.”

Mark Ronson, who co-wrote the song with Andrew Wyatt, expressed his desire for Gosling to perform at the Academy Awards during an interview at the Grammys.

When questioned about the possibility of substituting another singer if Gosling declined to perform “I’m Just Ken” live at the Oscars, Ronson firmly stated,

“No. I think if Ryan doesn’t do it then we’re not doing it.”

“I’m Just Ken” is among the two “Barbie” tracks nominated for the Oscar for best original song.

The other nominee is “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish and Finneas, which secured the Grammy for best song written for visual media, surpassing both “I’m Just Ken” and the other “Barbie” hit “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa.

The Academy Awards will be broadcasted on ABC on March 10 at 4 p.m. PT, with Jimmy Kimmel returning as host.
