Scooter Braun, a prominent figure in the music industry known for managing artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, announced his retirement from artist management after a career spanning 23 years.

In an Instagram statement, Braun reflected on his journey, starting from managing his first artist at age 19 to becoming a pivotal figure in the careers of numerous global stars. He acknowledged the profound impact these experiences had on his life and expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had in shaping the trajectories of incredibly talented individuals.

Despite his deep attachment to his role as a manager for two decades, Braun revealed that personal reflections and changes in his family life, including a divorce and the growing up of his children, prompted him to reassess his priorities.

This led him to the decision to step away from day-to-day artist management, a role that defined his adult life. Braun emphasized that while he would no longer be managing artists, he would remain CEO of HYBE America, a role he has held alongside his managerial responsibilities for the past three years.

The decision to retire from management had been brewing for several years, culminating in 2023 when one of his major clients expressed a desire to explore new directions. Braun saw this as a sign and began preparing himself for the transition. He credited his professional partner, Bang Si-Hyuk, and his evolving personal priorities as key factors influencing his decision to step into a new phase of his career.

Reflecting on his tenure, Braun expressed deep appreciation for the artists he worked with, noting their impact on his life and expressing continued support for their future endeavors. He acknowledged the challenges and controversies that marked his career, including public scrutiny over business dealings and the departure of some clients.

Despite these challenges, Braun maintained a positive outlook, affirming his commitment to continue supporting artists, albeit in different capacities.

Looking ahead, Braun outlined his plans to focus on his roles within HYBE, as well as his philanthropic endeavors through the Braun Foundation and his involvement with Make A Wish.

He concluded his statement with gratitude for the unexpected twists and turns of his career, quoting Berry Gordy on the unpredictability of life’s paths. Braun expressed a sense of fulfillment in embracing the changes and reiterated his faith in what he referred to as “God’s plan” for his future.

Scooter Braun’s decision to retire from artist management marks the end of a transformative chapter in his life and career. While bidding farewell to a role that defined him for over two decades, Braun looks forward to new opportunities in business leadership and philanthropy, driven by his enduring passion for supporting both artists and charitable causes.
