Sean Stone, a producer recognized for his involvement in action films featuring Bruce Willis and John Travolta, has passed away at the age of 31. Stone’s family informed that he died on Tuesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

His battle with metastatic neuroendocrine cancer of the colon, diagnosed in July, ultimately claimed his life.

Stone, originally from New Jersey, pursued his passion for film after graduating from the University of Arizona. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2017, he embarked on his journey in the industry, starting at CAA under the mentorship of Dave Bugliari and later Jack Whigham.

His path led him to Emmett/Furla in 2020, where he began as an assistant, eventually transitioning to freelance executive producing.

His creative input left an indelible mark on several notable features released in 2022, such as the action thriller “Hot Seat,” starring Kevin Dillon and Mel Gibson, and “Wrong Place,” featuring Bruce Willis and Ashley Greene.

Additionally, his involvement in “Wire Room,” starring Willis and Dillon, showcased his commitment to quality cinema.

Stone’s career ascended as he took on more significant roles, notably producing “Cash Out,” a film starring John Travolta set for release in April, along with an upcoming sequel.

Beyond filmmaking, Stone had diverse interests, including painting, sports, hibachi, music, and a penchant for Shark Week. His multifaceted personality enriched both his professional and personal life.

Survivors of Sean Stone include his parents, David and Ileen, along with his siblings Ashley, Justin, Michael, Mallory, and Brian. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Thomas Smith, sisters-in-law Christine Stone and Jenna Yeo, as well as his nieces Ella and Sloane.
