Amazon originally announced the open-world RPG New World: Aeternum’s arrival on Xbox Series X and S in October, with a closed beta scheduled for July. Initially, the beta was set to run from July 11th to July 17th, but this has since changed. Interested players were directed to the official New World website for detailed participation instructions.

The closed beta is an invite-only cross-play test for console players in North America and Europe. Participants will be able to customize characters, experiment with unique weapons, and explore supernatural zones. This test will give players a sneak peek at the end-game content before the official release on October 15th.

New World: Aeternum is described as an enhanced version of Amazon’s MMORPG, originally released in September 2021. This edition includes the base game, the “Rise of the Angry Earth” expansion, and various new and revamped content. Amazon appears to be emphasizing solo play in this version, with the closed beta providing an early look at these enhancements before the full release in October.
