Disney Channel star Skai Jackson will not face charges following her recent arrest for domestic battery.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has decided not to file charges against Jackson, 22, according to court documents obtained by People.
“Skai is relieved that the investigation clarified that this was merely a misunderstanding,” a representative for Jackson told on Saturday, September 7.
“We appreciate the DA’s swift decision to dismiss the case, and Skai is eager to move on from this incident.”
The former child actress was arrested on August 8 for misdemeanor domestic battery. Authorities were called to Universal Studios in Los Angeles after Jackson and her boyfriend reportedly had an argument.
When questioned by police, both Jackson and her boyfriend, whose identity has not been revealed, denied any physical altercation. Jackson also stated that they are engaged and expecting a child together.
Jackson was released from custody a few hours later on $20,000 bail and has since refrained from discussing the incident or her relationship status.
Jackson gained fame for her role as Zuri Ross on Disney Channel’s “Jessie” from 2011 to 2015 and later appeared on the network’s spinoff “Bunk’d.”
She has also featured in “Marvel Rising,” “Sheroes,” and competed on season 29 of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Despite her public career, Jackson prefers to keep certain aspects of her life private.
In a 2023 social media video, she explained, “When it comes to sharing personal details, I don’t reveal everything to all my friends. It’s important to keep some things to yourself. Not everyone needs to know every detail about your life.”
She added, “I don’t owe anyone an explanation or feel the need to share every aspect of my life.
I prefer to keep things private. You see how I act publicly, which is reflective of how I am in real life, but I don’t need to disclose every detail.”
Jackson later shared with a glimpse into her daily routine, saying, “I’m meeting friends for a quick meal before heading home to relax. I’m looking forward to spending the evening with my dog, Otis.”
