Snoop Dogg’s brother, Bing Worthington, passed away at 44, as confirmed by the rap icon on social media. In a series of heartfelt Instagram posts, the 52-year-old rapper shared photos of Mr. Worthington.
Notably, he was Snoop’s younger half-brother from their mother’s side. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in California, Mr. Worthington died on Thursday. Sergeant Frank Gonzalez mentioned,
”The cause of death will be pending the results of the toxicology and autopsy report.”
In another social media post, Snoop shared a video featuring himself, Mr. Worthington, and others at a cemetery, where Mr. Worthington cracked a joke that left everyone in stitches. Snoop captioned the post, “[Bing] always made us laugh.”
In a third post, Snoop shared a photo of Mr. Worthington presenting a birthday cake to their late mother, Beverly Tate, who passed away in October 2021. Alongside crying and praying hands emojis, he captioned the image, “bac wit momma.”
“Until we meet again” he captioned the final tribute.
Throughout his career, Mr. Worthington collaborated with his older brother, a recording artist, on various business ventures and served as his tour manager. Additionally, he co-founded Dogg Records, a Canadian record company.
The entrepreneur briefly dabbled in music with the hip-hop group Lifestyle. Their album, ‘Liquid Cocaine,’ was released in 2003, as reported by a source.
According to Vice, he began his journey as a roadie for Snoop, later transitioning to managing various ventures, including Snoop Dogg Skateboards, before ultimately becoming his tour manager. In 2016, Mr Worthington told Vice,
“I started from the bottom, I ain’t just become the tour manager, I was just the road guy. I worked my way to the top. Even though I’m [Snoop’s] brother he didn’t give me a top-ranked position. You can’t just become a president without knowing anything about being the president. You have to learn.”
He is survived by a partner and an adult son. Notably, Mr. Worthington’s passing comes just a month after Snoop’s 24-year-old daughter Cori Broadus, whom he shares with wife Shante Broadus, experienced a “severe” stroke in mid-January.
