When it comes to anime, the effort put into making a series can be extraordinary. With the anime industry’s fierce competition, success demands nothing less than total dedication. The team behind Solo Leveling exemplifies this commitment, with stories emerging of sacrifices made during production.

Shunsuke Nakashige, the director of Solo Leveling, recently took to social media to express gratitude to fans as season one concluded. Amidst celebrating the anime’s success, Nakashige revealed a harrowing experience from last year when they were hospitalized after coughing up blood due to work-related stress.

In Nakashige’s own words,

“Thank you for watching Solo Leveling episode 12. It was a challenging project, but with the dedication of the entire team, we persevered. As we prepare for a second season, I’ll prioritize rest and give it my all. Last year, I was hospitalized due to vomiting blood.”

Such a revelation underscores the intense pressure and strain experienced by those involved in bringing Solo Leveling to life. Moreover, Nakashige’s ordeal is not an isolated incident.

In a previous interview, Nakashige disclosed that Taito Ban, the actor portraying Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, also endured a similar ordeal during production.

While recording lines for the first half of season one, Ban coughed up blood in the studio due to the strain on his voice. This level of dedication, though admirable, highlights the sacrifices made by the team for the sake of the anime.
