Julián Ortega, an actor known for his roles in Netflix’s “Elite” and other Spanish-language series, tragically passed away on August 25 at the age of 41. His death occurred after he collapsed due to cardiorespiratory arrest at Playa de Zahora beach in Cádiz, Spain.
Although initial reports suggested that he had drowned, it was later confirmed that Ortega had collapsed on shore, where paramedics made extensive efforts to revive him for about 30 minutes before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Spanish Union of Actors and Actresses expressed their sorrow over Ortega’s untimely passing, extending their deepest condolences to his family and friends in a statement released on August 26.
They also highlighted Ortega’s academic background, noting that he was a graduate of the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid and had been a part of the Young Company at the National Classical Theatre Company. E! News reached out for additional comments from Ortega’s representatives but had not received a response.
Ortega was widely recognized for his role in the first season of “Elite” and had also made his mark in other popular Spanish series such as “Untameable,” “The Countryside,” and “4 Estrellas.” His talent and contributions to the Spanish television industry were well-regarded, and his sudden death has left a significant void in the acting community.
