The St. Louis Cardinals are set to sign Brandon Crawford, a veteran infielder from the San Francisco Giants and a native of the Bay Area. Sources informed on Monday, corroborating several reports. The agreement is contingent upon the completion of a physical examination.

Expected to vie for a backup infield position, 37-year-old Brandon Crawford is likely to support rookie shortstop Masyn Winn in the lineup for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Brandon Crawford, a distinguished player with three All-Star selections and four Gold Glove awards, has spent all 13 of his major league seasons with the Giants.

Drafted by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2008 draft out of UCLA, Crawford has established himself as a cornerstone of the team’s infield.
