Steve Bannon Celebrates Rise of Right-Wing Parties in Recent European Elections

Steve Bannon, who used to work closely with President Trump, is pretty happy about the recent elections in Europe. He thinks they show that more right-wing political parties are gaining popularity there. Bannon talked about this on his show, War Room, which is broadcast on Real Americas Voice. He said it’s like a big change happening, especially in countries like France, where right-wing parties are doing well.

Bannon specifically pointed to the success of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party in France, which garnered 31.5 percent of the vote.

This was more than double the 14.5 percent received by the Besoin d’Europe alliance, including President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance party. This significant result has led to Macron calling for a snap parliamentary election in four weeks, reflecting the impact of the far-right’s rise on the French political landscape.

In Italy, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party also made significant gains, securing 28.8 percent of the vote. This is a substantial increase from their performance in previous elections, illustrating the growing support for conservative and far-right ideologies in Italy.

Similarly, Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AFD) party achieved 16.2 percent of the vote, overtaking the Social Democrats led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz. This marked an increase from their 11 percent share in 2019, though slightly below their earlier ratings this year.

The overall rightward shift in the European Parliament has been acknowledged by political analysts and commentators. Pawel Zerca, a senior policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, noted that the election results indicate a significant political shift at both national and European levels.

He emphasized that the biggest beneficiaries of this election were the radical right parties, which have increased their influence and presence in the European Parliament.

This rightward movement across Europe, celebrated by Bannon and other right-wing proponents, underscores a broader trend of growing conservative and nationalist sentiments within the EU. The success of far-right parties in these elections signals potential changes in European policies and governance, as these parties gain more power and influence in shaping the future of the continent.
