Stevie Nicks, the iconic figure from Fleetwood Mac, is set to headline this year’s British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park festival, as officially revealed.
The 75-year-old Grammy-winning musician is scheduled to perform on July 12th in London, with an anticipated audience of over 65,000 people.
She joins previously announced BST headliners Andrea Bocelli (5 July), Robbie Williams (6 July), and K-pop stars Stray Kids (14 July).
The London festival also features headliners Kings Of Leon (30 June), Shania Twain (7 July), and Kylie Minogue (13 July).
Stevie Nicks will be joined by a host of support acts yet to be announced. The singer-songwriter last performed at BST Hyde Park in 2017, opening for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. He is also rumored for Glastonbury 2024, as co-organizer Emily Eavis announced this year’s legend slot would feature a female artist.
Nicks said of her forthcoming BST performance:
“Anything that draws me back to London – and therefore to England – fills my heart with joy.
“And to be able to visit and make music … is always a dream come true…”
Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, earning acclaim as the singer and songwriter behind iconic hits like “Dreams”, “I Don’t Want to Know”, and “Gold Dust Woman”.
All three tracks are featured on the band’s legendary album, Rumours, released in 1977. With over 40 million copies sold globally, it stands as the fifth best-selling album of the decade.
Nicks has achieved significant success as a solo artist with hits like “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stand Back”.
She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: first with Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and then as a solo artist in 2019.
About The Event
The singer-songwriter’s BST Hyde Park headline show comes after a series of solo headline performances in the United States.
In October, Nicks hinted that Fleetwood Mac may cease group performances following the passing of singer-songwriter Christine McVie.
McVie, known for her contributions to Fleetwood Mac’s iconic hits like “Everywhere” and “Little Lies”, passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 79. Her cause of death was later confirmed to be an ischaemic stroke.
