Super Bowl LVIII is rapidly approaching, showcasing an epic showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

Las Vegas was bestowed with the honor of hosting the climactic event of the 2023 NFL season, with Allegiant Stadium, the home turf of the Las Vegas Raiders, selected as the prestigious venue. This historic moment marks Las Vegas and the entire state of Nevada’s inaugural opportunity to serve as hosts for the revered Super Bowl.

Initially designated for New Orleans, the hosting decision was made in 2018. However, with the league and NFLPA’s agreement in March 2020 to extend the regular season by one game, shifting from 16 to 17 games over 18 weeks, starting from 2021, the Super Bowl was subsequently moved one week later into February.

Consequently, the clash between Super Bowl LVIII, scheduled for Feb. 11, 2024, and New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations prompted the league to award New Orleans with Super Bowl LIX in October 2020, while Las Vegas was announced as the host for Super Bowl LVIII in December 2021.

Allegiant Stadium, strategically located on Al Davis Way in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, embarked on construction in 2017 and proudly opened its doors in 2020. This state-of-the-art enclosed venue, spanning across 10 levels, boasts a staggering capacity of up to 65,000 spectators and stands as the world’s second-most expensive stadium, with a construction cost of $1.9 billion.

A notable feature of Allegiant Stadium is the awe-inspiring 92-foot Al Davis Memorial Torch, serving as a poignant tribute to the former Raiders owner. At the time of its inception, this torch proudly held the title of being the largest 3D printed structure globally.

Fans attending the Super Bowl can anticipate a captivating visual experience with an array of over 2,300 televisions and 75,000 square feet of video boards adorning the stadium.

Allegiant Stadium also played host to the NFL Pro Bowl in both 2022 and 2023. Originally intended to host the Pro Bowl from 2021, plans had to be adjusted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Beyond football events, this versatile stadium caters to a myriad of occasions, including concerts, soccer matches, college football games, and more.
