Live from New York, Sydney Sweeney clarifies misconceptions. Over the weekend, the “Euphoria” actress seized the spotlight during her “Saturday Night Live” monologue. She aimed to dispel what she deemed the most outlandish rumor circulating about her: allegations of an affair with Glen Powell during the filming of their rom-com “Anyone But You.”

“That’s obviously not true,” Sweeney said.

“Me and my fiancé produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot. I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams, and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”

She further clarified that her fiancé was present at “SNL” to show his support, only to humorously express surprise as the camera panned to Powell in the audience.

“No, that’s not my fiancé,” she quipped, “He’s in my dressing room!”

In truth, Sweeney’s fiancé is Jonathan Davino, with whom she has been romantically associated since 2018. Powell had previously voiced his dismay over the affair rumors in an interview with Men’s Health, labeling them as “disorienting and unfair.”

Sweeney also tackled other controversies in her “SNL” monologue, addressing backlash she faced in 2022 for attending her mom’s birthday party, where guests sported red hats with the slogan “Make Sixty Great Again” and one wore a T-shirt seemingly referencing “Blue Lives Matter.”

Hailing from a town straddling Washington and Idaho, Sweeney quipped,

“When asked where I’m from, I say Washington. But when asked about a Trump-themed party for my mom, I say Ida-ho!”

She expressed frustration at the time, deeming it “absurd” that a simple celebration for her mom’s 60th birthday turned into a political debate. Sweeney emphasized that it wasn’t intended as a political statement and urged people to refrain from making assumptions.

During her “SNL” monologue, Sweeney addressed accusations of lying about working at Universal Studios, spurred by a viral TikTok. With a touch of humor, she countered,

“If I didn’t work there, how would I know all of the Universal characters, like Shrok, the Minions, and Harry Porter?”

She also took aim at another viral TikTok, this time from a woman claiming to be her nutritionist. Sweeney clarified she had “never met her” and “never had a nutritionist,” playfully adding,

“I’m in shape because I run, avoid sugar, and do Ozempic.”

Aside from online rumors, Sweeney humorously addressed the box-office flop of her superhero film “Madame Web” during her “SNL” monologue. In a self-deprecating manner, she quipped,

“You might have seen me in ‘Anyone But You’ or ‘Euphoria,’ but you definitely did not see me in ‘Madame Web.'”

Hooters Hilarity: Sydney Sweeney Shines In ‘SNL’ Sketch

In one skit, Sweeney and Powell indulge in the ongoing rumors, with Powell making a cameo as her boss in a humorous confrontation about infidelity.

Meanwhile, Sweeney shines as a Hooters waitress raking in hefty tips, leaving her coworkers green with envy. Her character’s comedic mishaps in previous jobs add to the hilarity of the night.
