The sequel to The Accountant, starring Ben Affleck, started production quickly, announced by Amazon Studios. They shared a photo on social media indicating the first day of filming. This matches what J.K. Simmons mentioned recently-

“Yeah, I head to LA in a little over a week to do some rehearsals and pre-production and start shooting my chunk of it. I’m not even sure, I think they start early next week , because then I’m in the week after and doing my supporting thing.” 

Season 1 Plot

The movie reunites Affleck, Bernthal, Simmons, and director Gavin O’Connor. Simmons mentioned that even during the first film’s production, there were discussions about a sequel if the original did well.

He thanked O’Connor and Affleck for making it possible. The first film did well in theaters and gained popularity on streaming platforms in recent years. 

In the movie, Affleck plays Wolff, a math genius who prefers numbers to people. He works secretly for criminals but poses as an accountant in a small town.

When the Treasury Department starts investigating him, things get complicated. Wolff also helps a robotics company while facing a larger conspiracy.
