The Story has taken an unexpected turn as the focus has shifted from Sanya to Choeun Yeomyeon. While Sanya is worrying about how she will fix the food shortage in her country, Choeun has some different problems.

Annoyed by the constant praises received by the Prince, Choeun has decided to confront her. How will this confrontation go? We’ll see this in The Baby Concubine Wants To Live Quietly Chapter 39!

The Baby Concubine Wants To Live Quietly Chapter 38 opens up with Sanya thinking about how she never imagined that there would be a world where staple crops are considered nonsense.

Sanya remembers that sweet potatoes and potatoes are native to the American continent so it makes sense that they haven’t reached Seora yet, as Seora corresponds to Asia in this world.

Recap

Sanya thinks that if there’s a food shortage and no staple crops in this world, then they should just open the storage of the noble families.

The problem with opening this storage is that it would be met with resistance from the noble families of the seven countries. If these noble families decided to join forces, then it would be difficult for even the Emperor to stand against them.

Sanya further adds that the Emperor’s powers aren’t physical so it would be dangerous to antagonize the nobles because if the Emperor’s powers were revealed, then it could even lead to a regime change. Thinking about all the difficulties of being an Emperor, Sanya realizes that she can never become one.

Sanya wonders why the original dragon blessed the humans with such a pathetic power even though he had infinite power.

The power given to the humans was a power to be “loved by all,” which isn’t even that useful and leaves the humans at the mercy of other nobles. Suddenly Gowoon arrives in the room to inform Sanya about the arrival of a guest.

As Sanya already predicted earlier, Yehwa has arrived to meet her. Sanya serves some tea for Yehwa but she just drinks it without even speaking anything.

Even after 30 minutes pass by, Yehwa just commends the tea and says that the teapot is beautiful. Sanya gets annoyed by the silent treatment, so she directly asks Yehwa if she has come to apologize to her.

Yehwa nearly spits her tea because of Sanya’s comment. Sanya further adds that his Majesty must have ordered Yehwa to apologize to her, and Lady Gwibi and Seonbi would have also said something as well.

Yehwa finally controls her coughing, but she still can’t fathom how Sanya already knows everything that she wants to say. This sudden display from Sanya leaves Yehwa in utter shock.

The focus then shifts to “Feminine Heaven,” the story of Choeun Yeomyeon. This story is about the precious daughter of the noble Yeomyeon family, Choeun Yeomyeon.

Choeun was someone who got a lot of attention from her family and everyone else thanks to her psychic powers, which were one of a kind.

Due to the constant attention and appraisal, Choeun became intoxicated with her superiority. She would often look in the mirror and appreciate her beauty and talent, which was the result of the abundant love and praise that she got from everyone. In short, Choeun was a spoiled child who had a superiority complex.

Choeun lived in her small bubble of superiority until one day, when she was chosen to be the Prince’s consort. Choeun thought her life of constant love and support would last forever, but everything changed for her as soon as she arrived at the Prince’s royal palace.

While at the royal palace, Choeun learned that she wasn’t the only popular person. The Prince constantly received praise from everyone in the palace, and people even claimed that no one could be compared to the Prince.

As the days went by, Choeun kept getting pushed aside, and the compliments she received started to become lesser and lesser.

Choeun got annoyed by the constant appraisal of the Prince, and so one day she decided to speak up. She thinks that she’s better than the Prince, and so she should be the one receiving praise instead of her. Choeun orders all the servants to step away, and then she approaches the Prince to confront him.

Everyone thinks that Choeun has finally lost it. Choeun stands in front of the Prince and asks her if she’s enjoying all the praises that she receives. The Prince gets rather amused by Choeun’s words.
