In the reality TV series The Bachelor, twenty-five women vie for the attention of a single man in the pursuit of true love. The hour-long prime-time show follows the bachelor as he works through the difficulties and drama of dating several women at once. Joey is the new bachelor, but he’s more like the average bachelor than the ideal one.
On March 25, 2002, ABC premiered the American dating and relationship reality television series The Bachelor. Chris Harrison served as the program’s host for the first 25 seasons.
The Bachelor franchise began with The Bachelorette, and its popularity led to a number of spin-offs, including The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, Bachelor in Paradise, Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise, The Bachelor Winter Games, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!, and The Golden Bachelor. It also spawned numerous international versions of the shows.
ABC announced the series’ twenty-eighth season renewal on May 16, 2023. The show centres on a single bachelor who starts off with a group of potential love interests from which he must choose a fiancée.
The bachelor eliminates contestants each week during the season (see The Elimination Process), which ends with a marriage proposal to his chosen candidate. On their dates, the contestants visit beautiful and exotic places, and the elimination-style format of the show is the source of all internal and external conflicts in the series.

Recap
In the previous episode we saw that Daisy receives the one-on-one this week, which is to be expected given that their connection seemed to click right away on the first date. They travel to Beach Life Ranch in Redondo Beach for a music festival after she meets him at a helipad.
The date is fairly informal, but Daisy worries that she might not be able to hear Joey because of his loud cochlear implant, so she’ll have to tell him about it before she’s ready.
Fortunately for her, Joey pays close attention. He is comforting when she appears nervous and doesn’t press when she is evasive about her work (she manages a nonprofit organisation connected to her hearing loss).
The second group date is also a bit of a puzzle. Teams consisting of Kelsey A., Allison, Madina, Katelyn, Edwina, Chrissa, Marlena, Autumn, Starr, and Jenn engage in a “paint fight” in an effort to save Joey’s heart. In literal sense, a soft heart.
Every team has one, and before theirs is compromised, the other is attempting to take it. Demi Burnett and Jubilee Sharpe, former Bachelor Nation contestants, lend Joey a little assistance.
While all the women comply, Edwina goes above and beyond to emerge as the standout performer. When Demi and Jubilee disclose that Joey will only be choosing one winner team member to have dinner with—Edwina—it comes as no surprise.
