Lashana Lynch stars as a British intelligence officer in the upcoming Peacock series The Day of the Jackal, which features Eddie Redmayne as a skilled assassin. The new trailer, which premiered during the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony on NBC and Peacock, showcases Redmayne’s character in action, including scenes of him with a sniper rifle and donning various disguises.
Redmayne’s character, known as the Jackal, is a highly-paid hitman who faces a formidable opponent in Lynch’s character. After a recent assassination, the Jackal finds himself pursued by Lynch in a gripping cat-and-mouse chase that spans across Europe, with both characters leaving a trail of chaos in their wake.
The supporting cast includes Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Úrsula Corberó, and several other notable actors, such as Chukwudi Iwuji and Lia Williams. Their performances will contribute to the intense and dramatic narrative of the series.
The Day of the Jackal is set to premiere on Peacock in the U.S. and on Sky in the U.K. on November 7. The series is produced by Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios, and will be distributed globally by NBCUniversal. The executive producers for the show include Ronan Bennett, Gareth Neame, and both Redmayne and Lynch, among others.
