The highly anticipated Season 2 of SBS’s revenge drama, “The Escape of the Seven,” has offered a sneak peek into its first script reading session. Following the success of the 2023 drama, the upcoming season, titled “The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection,” continues the gripping tale of revenge.
This time, the narrative delves into the counterattack of seven individuals who have returned from hell, confronting a new evil that has allied with Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon).
Key cast members from the original series, including Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, and more, are set to reprise their roles in Season 2. Additionally, CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin is a noteworthy addition to the ensemble for this new instalment.
The script reading event was attended by writer Kim Soon Ok and lead actors Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, Jo Jae Yoon, Yoon Tae Young, and the newly introduced Lee Jung Shin. The participants showcased their dedication and enthusiasm for their respective characters.
The actors immersed themselves in their roles, portraying the upgraded tension and chemistry that viewers can expect in the upcoming season. Characters such as Matthew Lee, Geum Ra Hee, Min Do Hyuk, Han Mo Ne, Cha Joo Ran, Yang Jin Mo, Go Myung Ji, Nam Chul Woo, and Kang Ki Tak were brought to life with renewed vigour and intensity.
Notably, Lee Jung Shin, debuting as the fresh character Hwang Chan Sung, has already captured attention. Hwang Chan Sung is introduced as the CEO of SAVE, the leading company in the portal site industry.
Despite his seemingly aloof and discerning exterior, Hwang Chan Sung is characterized by kindness and affection towards the woman he loves. Anticipation surrounds his role as a key player in the unfolding success of Matthew Lee’s grand plan.
“The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection” is scheduled to premiere on March 29, promising fans a continuation of the suspenseful and enthralling storyline.
