The Givers’ CEO Forwarded to Prosecution; FIFTY FIFTY’s Agency Responds

FIFTY FIFTY's agency and CEO filed a defamation complaint against the SBS program "Unanswered Questions" PD and CP.

The CEO of The Givers, Ahn Sung Il, has been officially forwarded to prosecution following a complaint filed by FIFTY FIFTY’s agency, ATTRAKT. On February 16, ATTRAKT disclosed, “We recently received a notice from the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul notifying.

‘The case in which you filed a complaint against Ahn Sung Il for interference with business and damaging or destroying data processor or special media records has been recognized as a crime and has been forwarded [to the prosecution] (without detention).’”

Last June, ATTRAKT took legal action against Ahn Sung Il, accusing him of interference with business, damaging or destroying data processors or special media records, and occupational breach of trust. The agency’s persistence has resulted in the official forwarding of the case to the prosecution.

A representative from ATTRAKT revealed, “The first police investigation results have been released eight months after we filed a complaint against The Givers’ CEO and producer Ahn Sung Il.

We are also continuing to investigate the additional case that we filed on July 7 last year on charges of occupational embezzlement, counterfeiting of private documents, and uttering of falsified private documents. We are confident that additional criminal charges against Ahn Sung Il will be revealed in the future.”

The ongoing legal battle between FIFTY FIFTY and The Givers began in June 2023 when FIFTY FIFTY sought provisional disposition to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT. At that time, ATTRAKT suspected The Givers of attempting to “buy out” the group from their contracts.

In response, ATTRAKT filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station against Ahn Sung Il, alleging interference with business, damaging or destroying data processors or special media records, and occupational breach of trust.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the industry and fans await further developments in the case. The persistence of ATTRAKT reflects their commitment to seeking justice and resolution in the complex dispute. The future criminal charges against Ahn Sung Il add a layer to this ongoing legal saga that has gripped the K-pop community since its inception in mid-2023.
